Reem S. Abu-Rustum, MD, FACOG, FACS, FAIUM: Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Abu-Rustum received her medical degree at the University of Florida in 1993 and completed her residency training in Ob/Gyn at the University of Florida in 1997.

She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). She has developed a keen interest in ultrasound in general, and the first trimester and the fetal heart in particular. She has limited her practice to diagnostic ultrasound and providing obstetrical care.

Dr. Abu-Rustum is the Chair of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology's (ISUOG) Basic Training Task Force, Co-Chair of the AIUM Annual Convention Committee and Secretary of the AIUM Obstetrics Ultrasound Community. She is an ISUOG Ambassador for Lebanon and Outreach in the Middle East, a member of ISUOG's Outreach Committee, ISUOG’s Web Development Task Force, the FIGO/ISUOG Collaboration Steering Group and ISUOG's 3D Special Interest Group. She serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine and as Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly newsletter of the Center for Advanced Fetal Care. She is also a member of the Editorial Review Board for the AIUM OBGYN Ultrasound Lecture Series and the SMFM-AIUM Task force on Curriculum Development and Competency Assessment Tools for MFM Fellowship Training. She has authored the text 'A Practical Guide to 3D Ultrasound'. She is co-founder and president of SANA Medical NGO dedicated to outreach obstetrical care, and she is actively involved in ultrasound education.
