The third trimester scan is done at 32-35 weeks to follow up on fetal growth and reassess the anatomy. Some areas such as the kidneys, intestines, heart and brain may not manifest any abnormalities until this time. Also, reassurance as to normal fetal growth and fetal presentation (head or feet first) can be checked at this point in the pregnancy.
